Paint correction, paint polishing, paint compounding and paint enhancement are typically all used synonymously. All of these refer to improving the finish of automotive paint. Most people seek paint correction for their vehicle because they have scratches or swirls. Scratches or swirls often appear from improper car washing. Most commercial car washes use heavy duty brushes and over time these leave your car's paint with lite scratching and marring. Paint correction can typically correct these types of scratches and marring.
We should never expect perfection with paint correction as that could take countless hours of work and may not be possible . Most people will see the biggest improvement with a one step paint correction which is about a 50%-60% improvement. A multi step correction typically yields 70%-80% improvement. A 50%-60% improvement to most people's eye will be close to perfect. A 50% improvement from 3 feet away will greatly decrease the visibility of scratches.
